SafeMoon Army Birthday Celebration
Since March started, we have showcased some awesome community members who wanted to share their thoughts and experiences about this past year with SafeMoon.
Many in the community have been immense help behind the scenes.
First up today we have the amazing Crypto Control! Crypto Control is active on Twitter and is always eager to help educate the crypto community.
Happy Birthday SafeMoon Family! The vision of what SafeMoon is, is becoming, and the potential of what it could be has been changing and evolving over the past year. As a youtuber I get direct feedback and metadata on what the army wants and doesn't want and am happy to have this role in the community. We have been through big ups and downs. And now it comes down to is the ecosystem with cryptonomics, the swap, swap and evolve, onboarding companies, and everything they are working on going to provide the game changing events that lead us all to the moon? I believe we have serious potential for that to happen and the price is the lowest its been in a long time. I look forward to entertaining, informing and working with and for the SafeMoon family while we go through this next year. Love you guys thanks for all your support!
Thank you for all that you do, Crypto Control! And thank you so much for your words!
Next we have Pheonix Rising, a dedicated community member who's been such an amazing help to both the Army and the education team! Pheonix has decided to share a blog and, due to its length, we decided to split it into three sections. Enjoy!
Hello and welcome to the second part of this 3-part blog series! In case you missed Part I, or maybe you only saw it when it first came out and was missing several pages of it, you can check that out here.
But SafeMoon has got a whole lot more exciting news, catalysts, and developments on the horizon, some of which are in the very near future, while others are slightly further down the road, but before the year ends.
So without further ado, let’s get right into it! Click here for PART 2!
John Karony on Discord
SFM Holder: 2019-2020 I spent 20 bucks to fill my car up….50 now minimum.
John: Imagine having to pay gas fees to just pay for gas with your eth... This joke will go over some folks heads.
SFM Holder: You know the shiz, Cap... a joke.. I can't seem to understand... make Safemoon blockchain cheaper than BSC
John: We are exploring a "witness system". Similar to proof of coverage, but not. Meaning users would be the validators to an extent. We still might go another route, but it depends on the final hardware specs we are working with. We are experimenting with a few different consensus algorithms. Just wanted to share a little nugget with ya. But not proof of work. The intent is to be green and have the blockchain semi hosted off grid in a decentralized fashion. We are combining a few different concepts together, which requires experimentation.
This is just where we are at right now with the experimentation. It's part of the prep work process. I don't consider this actual coding however.
Could we end up using parts of what was "coded" during final production, yes.
SFM Holder: I need all this dumbed down in caveman.
John: We make written record of special stone, then duplicate special stone with fancy words. Fancy words make resource value. To protect resource value we scramble words and make words not special but still special. We then make sure we update all special stones with the not so special fancy but still special words every time new person wants to put in new fancy words.
But to do fancy words good, we need to find the best special stones to put the fancy words, then find the best way to make fancy words not special but special.
SFM Holder: If SafeMoon become the cheapest blockchain.. everyone will use us.
John: We do that by combining different products into one. Where the "rewards" for using the blockchain come from diverse sources. Again, final product may look different than what we are currently looking at, as we are in the prep phase. If we discover something, that is amazing, we will pivot as that would become the new best course of action.
And by rewards, i mean how ETH rewards miners with ETH, and BTC rewards miners with BTC. We are exploring different mechanics around that.
SFM Holder: a bit of both or a totally new algorithm?
John: That is what we are exploring right now. There is some special sauce we are putting in regardless, we are experimenting if we need to make a new one, or pick pieces of existing and combine it into a recipe of success.
Its like a good stew, beef is beef, carrots are carrots etc., but when combined in different amounts, you get different results. Again, we are in the prep phase right now. So we are testing different items out to determine the best course of action.
Mod: proof of history
John: Proof of time? One of the concepts we were exploring was around how to pick validators. This is was when we were exploring that "witness" aspect in proof of coverage. Meaning, if a wallet was active more 100 days in a row, they would be eligible to be a validator.
But I don't think we are going down that route. But it was a fun little brainstorming session to talk about the possibilities around that kind of model.
SFM Holder: There are always good and bad points in those algorithms, it's a torture to pick a solution when not all solutions are near to be perfect. I'll spend all my life thinking about a way to make one on this particular subject, and eventually not even find one that is near perfect, this is sooooo complicated. Please take your time for that
John: We are. The other item we are looking at it decentralization of the actual hardware. Yeeting a blockchain onto AWS or something isn't ideal, we may do something like that in the beginning, but the intent would be to have the hardware decentralized. Meaning completely off grid and running on its own power.
Which then raises the question of how large of a footprint do we want or need? I mean we could build a beefed up system, and put in in a shipping container, or we could aim to host it on smaller devices. With that in mind, now we have to account for supply chain into our development timeline. These are all items we are exploring, as I said previously, there is a hardware component to this whole thing.
SFM Holder: How small of a device is it something we could buy hook up to a solar panel or something?
John: Well then that leads into some more schools of thought. IE heavy nodes vs. lite nodes.
SFM Holder: Hey Capt, thanks for the blockchain updates! I know you're limited on what you can comment about, but happen to be able to comment on possible speeds of it? Current hypothesis of performance of course.
John: See, that's where the thinking needs to change. We are aiming for as fast as possible. And are building it to handle a massive amount of transactions. We don't want to release something that is not robust.
SFM Holder: So quick question Cap. Was the KYC screenshot possible portal for POS customers/retailers?
John: Not a screen from the point of sale system.
SFM Holder: Will the cards be available outside of US and EU?
John: All the info about that will be released in due course.
SFM Holder: Wen exchange
John: I ask the staff that every day 🙂
SFM Holder: Do you think the big office and everything was premature where we’re at in the process with everything?
SFM Holder: I need merch, Cap. I have a business, I meet a lot of people [and] I'd pass them out occasionally! Put me to work!
John: Stay tuned. Did you all like the merch I was wearing at SxSW?
John: Who's coming to MoonCast?
SFM Holder: Will you be here?
John: I will be.
