Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister Aims to Make the Country the Leading Jurisdiction for Cryptocurrency
Mikhail Fedorov, Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister, expressed his ambition for the country to become the premier jurisdiction for cryptocurrency at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He also discussed Ukraine's new central bank digital currency, the e-hryvnia, and legislation aimed at making the country the top destination for crypto assets. UK's Electronic Trade Document Bill
Trade association representatives testified in Parliament on Thursday, describing the UK's Electronic Trade Document Bill as a great local and global opportunity. The bill, which is currently under debate, could enable the use of blockchain technology to store trade documents electronically. Currently, these documents must be kept and transported in paper form, which can be cumbersome, according to Hannah Gilbert, policy advisor at the UK Chamber of Shipping. Gilbert pointed out that tests have shown electronic documents can be transported in minutes, as opposed to the current system which involves passing through multiple parties.
