1.5M Houses Could Be Powered by the Energy Texas Miners Returned
During the winter storm in Texas in December 2022, mining operations for the cryptocurrency Bitcoin returned up to 1,500 megawatts of energy to the local grid. This was made possible through the flexibility of mining operations and support from state authorities. According to calculations from Texas Blockchain Council, this amount of energy is enough to heat 1.5 million small homes or keep 300 large hospitals fully operational, as stated by the council's President Lee Bratcher in a commentary to Satoshi Action Fund. Mastercard Taps Polygon for Web3 Artist Accelerator
Mastercard will use Polygon to launch its Mastercard Artist Accelerator. More than 55 million shares of Robinhood stock owned by Sam Bankman-Fried and FTX co-founder Gary Wang have been seized by the U.S. Department of Justice.
