Cryptocurrency is a blend word made of crypto, from the word cryptography, and currency or money. It’s a digital form of money that uses cryptography to secure and verify all transactions.You can think of cryptography as a secret language used to encrypt communication (or in this case, your money) that can only be understood by those intended to see it. This helps ensure the authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of the information being transmitted.
It could be argued that cryptocurrency was born in the 1990s, but it was really only a concept among researchers at that time. They were just beginning to explore the potential of using an alternative to traditional money. It wasn’t until 2009 when the first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, was launched that the word began gaining attention. Considering the progress that has been made in the last 14 years, it’s pretty exciting to think about what’s ahead.

DeFi has a big issue of vulnerability to exploits, which has led to the theft of $4.3 billion worth of cryptocurrency from January to November 2022, a 37% increase from the previous year. This raises concerns about the integrity of companies and fuels skepticism against cryptocurrencies.
To tackle this issue, Web3 Builders has introduced a suite of tools, including the TrustCheck browser extension to flag Web3-related scams, a Web3 Builders transaction checker, website checker, and smart contract checker. These tools scan around 30 million suspicious domains daily and check 55 million Ethereum smart contracts for vulnerabilities. The CEO of Web3 Builders, Ricky Pellegrini, sees this as a crucial moment for the industry to prove its trustworthiness. He acknowledges that scams and fraud are still prevalent in the Web3 space. Birmingham VA Harnesses AI Tech to Fight Colon Cancer
To reduce the risk of colon cancer among veterans, Birmingham VA has introduced the GI Genius Intelligent Endoscopy Module, a computer-aided detection system powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The system is available in all procedure rooms at Birmingham VA, where over 3,000 colonoscopies are performed annually. According to Dr. James Callaway, the chief of Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Birmingham VA is among a few facilities in Alabama that use this technology, which also includes the University of Alabama at Birmingham Kirklin Clinic, the University of South Alabama in Mobile, and the Dothan Surgery Center.
The use of AI has been shown to improve the detection of abnormalities and polyps during colonoscopies. Colonoscopy is an important preventive measure for early detection of colorectal cancer and for removing precancerous polyps and lesions. eBay Hiring Multiple Web3 Roles Following NFT Marketplace Acquisition
eBay, a leading e-commerce platform, is looking to hire several people for Web3 jobs related to KnownOrigin, which is a marketplace for non-fungible tokens that eBay bought in June. Some of the jobs they are looking to fill are Crypto Counsel, Head of Community, a marketing executive, and others.
The Crypto Counsel will mainly help KnownOrigin and focus on advising the company as it grows into NFTs and other blockchain technologies. They will work with people in taxes, intellectual property, and security and provide legal guidance as eBay goes further into the Web3 space. KnownOrigin is an early Web3 company that empowers digital artists to express themselves, find an audience, and make a living from their work. eBay wants to find like-minded people to join them in their journey. Despite the tough market, eBay has been exploring NFTs over the past few months.
