Bitcoin Halving
What Is Bitcoin Halving?
Every 210,000 blocks, the Bitcoin network undergoes a halving event, which reduces the block reward given to miners for processing transactions by half, gradually reducing the rate at which new bitcoins are produced. As of April 2023, approximately 19.3 million bitcoins are already in circulation, leaving around 1.68 million left to be mined via block rewards. (Investopedia)
Why Is It Important?
Bitcoin, often compared to gold for its scarcity and resistance to inflation, can be sent globally like an email and has a known and verifiable exact scarcity. While new discoveries of gold happen every year, Bitcoin has a finite supply, with only 21 million to ever be mined, and as of late 2020, less than 2.5 million remain. Bitcoin is mined by a global network of computers competing to verify transactions, with miners rewarded in Bitcoin through a mining reward, halved approximately every four years until the last coin is estimated to be mined around 2140. Once all 21 million coins are mined, miners will only earn income from transaction fees on the network, a contrast to fiat currencies, which can be printed at the discretion of the government or central bank, potentially leading to inflation. While it is often thought that the last bitcoin will be mined in 2140, the mining reward will continue to exist, albeit smaller, every time there is a halving if the blockchain still exists.

Token Monetization Innovation (TMI)
SafeMoon has released a new patent pending feature designed to improve the user experience on its DEX (Decentralized Exchange - SafeMoon SWaP), labeling the feature TMI (Token Monetization Innovation).
TMI aims to improve transparency and transaction predictability by charging the exchange fees upfront in the native token and using smart contracts to ensure transparency in token liquidity pairings. It also aims to expand the availability of web3 and enable additional community partnerships with meaningful projects.
