Cardano-Backed Algorithmic Stablecoin Djed Hits Mainnet
After much anticipation from the Cardano community, the network developers have finally launched the ecosystem’s overcollateralized stablecoin called ‘Djed.’ Per the announcement, the stablecoin launch comes after its successful security audit and development testing for over a year. Djed is a community-driven Cardano-backed algorithmic stablecoin which is also a product of Coti, a decentralized financial (DeFi) solutions developer on the Cardano blockchain. Since its disclosure, Djed has been one of the anticipated news in the crypto market, especially for ADA investors, as they believe it is a good enough catalyst to move ADA significantly. Wormhole Wins Vote to Be Uniswap’s Designated Bridge to BNB Chain
Wormhole, the crypto bridge platform, won a community vote on Tuesday to become the official governance bridge for Uniswap – the largest decentralized exchange platform by trading volume – when its version 3 platform arrives on Binance’s BNB Chain. The win grants Wormhole valuable new turf in an ongoing battle between bridge platforms – vital pieces of crypto infrastructure that allow users to pass assets and other data between blockchains. The Wormhole bridge will eventually be used to give Uniswap v3 users on BNB Chain the ability to participate in the Uniswap DAO’s Ethereum-based governance process. [Source: CoinDesk]
Twitter Prepping For Payments, Could Include Bitcoin And Crypto
Elon Musks’ Twitter has reportedly begun applying for regulatory licenses across the U.S. in apparent preparation to begin facilitating payments through the app. People close to the company stated that Twitter “has started to map out the architecture needed to facilitate payments on the platform with a small team,” which could potentially include functionality for cryptocurrency payments, according to the Financial Times. According to the FT source, Musk has stated that he wants Twitter to serve fiat payments first, but be made with the ability to enable cryptocurrency later on. [Source: Bitcoin Magazine]
