"Hide Collections" Feature

SafeMoon Wallet team member Galan tweeted a thread about the new "Hide Collections" feature in the recent wallet update.

So what is this "Hide Collectibles" thing all about in the #safemoonwallet?

When we released BSC and Polygon support for NFT's, people quickly saw that their addresses contained "spam" Collections that they did not purchase, and were showing in their wallet with no way to hide them. It was always part of the plan to add this ability.

However, the proliferation of "spam" appearing in people's collections prompted us to get this feature out quickly so that unwanted NFT's can be hidden from the app. You can undo this if you make a mistake and hide a Collection erroneously

The cool thing about this feature is, that it will remember your choices if you need to reinstall the app or upgrade your device down the road. You can also choose to delete a Collection forever, but use this WISELY as it cannot be undone.

⚠️Be aware that like Opensea and others, this is an internal system. Just as we don't have access to their internal databases and have no way of knowing what you may have hidden there, what you do in the SafeMoon app will not reflect on other platforms.

💡Last, regardless of what you do in the app, your NFT's remain on the blockchain - this feature is strictly for the UI and does not affect what resides at your respective blockchain addresses.

SafeMoon Community member Rutty_058 asked Education manager Cats why SafeMoon hasn't posted about the wallet update. Cats replied,

"We do have an article associated with updates so we do have the information to share, it just comes a little bit later. We want to allow the traffic to follow smoothly so that is why it comes later as an announcement."

SafeMoon CEO John Karony Tweeted, warning about a fake SafeMoon "(token)" on the Polygon Blockchain!!

"H3y #SAFEMOONARMY, Ju2t a friendly heads up that #SAFEMOON (token) is not currently on the #Polygon chain. One could say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", however, imitation is still merely imitation and not the real SafeMoon. Happy Wednesday!"
