FTX Files for Bankruptcy Protection in US; CEO Bankman-Fried Resigns
Crypto exchange FTX filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S., the Bahamas-based company said Friday.
CEO and founder Sam Bankman-Fried also resigned his role, but will "assist in an orderly transition." John Ray III is the new CEO. Ray appears to be the same individual who previously oversaw the Enron Corporation bankruptcy.
"In the short term we have some long days and hard work ahead of us," Ray told employees in a message verified by CoinDesk. He called the bankruptcy filing "the beginning of a path forward."
Respective bankruptcy filings said FTX US and Alameda Research had between $10 billion and $50 billion in liabilities and a similar range in assets, and estimated that "funds will be available for distribution to unsecured creditors." [Source: CoinDesk]

"Hi all: Today, I filed FTX, FTX US, and Alameda for voluntary Chapter 11 proceedings in the US. I'm really sorry, again, that we ended up here. Hopefully things can find a way to recover. Hopefully this can bring some amount of transparency, trust, and governance to them. Ultimately hopefully it can be better for customers.
This doesn't necessarily have to mean the end for the companies or their ability to provide value and funds to their customers chiefly, and can be consistent with other routes. Ultimately I'm optimistic that Mr. Ray and others can help provide whatever is best.

Brussels to Put Out Digital Euro Law Shortly, ECB’s Lagarde Says
The European Commission is going to present a legislative proposal for a digital euro in the near future, President of European Central Bank Christine Lagarde has indicated. The SEC Beat LBRY. Will It Go After Exchanges Like Coinbase Next?
If all crypto tokens are classified as securities, the SEC can go after the largest exchanges and marketplaces. “What the LBRY decision does is provide a major step forward in the SEC’s quest to label all tokens as securities,” said Cohen. “And that is indeed a very, very significant thing.”
Why is it so significant? Because if the SEC can get courts to rule that crypto tokens are securities regardless of how they are sold, the federal regulator would be able not only to target projects that create tokens, or directly participate in securities “schemes,” it would also be able to go after any entity that sells these tokens in any context.
This would essentially give the SEC the green light to go after major exchanges and marketplaces—like Coinbase, Binance.US, Kraken, and FTX US—that peddle cryptocurrencies to millions of secondary buyers on a daily basis. [Source: Crypto News]

With the FIFA 2022 World cup to begin in just a few days down the countdown, the International soccer association takes quite some radical decisions. Accordingly, FIFA has broken up with Electronic Arts (EA), after their long tenure relationship of more than 30 years.
The news has taken to surprise the entire soccer mania, and the game geeks too. FIFA games through EA were one of the most highly anticipated ones for the entire world out of the stables of EA.
